Brett Milburn  joins World Of Outlaws in Canada for 2 nights

30/07/2009: Brett "The Jet"Milburn and crew chief Adrian Parr, made the trip to Ohsweken speedway in Canada to join up with the World Of Outlaws for a two night show.

Night one began with time trial. Milburn turned in a lap of 16.153 seconds on the 3/8th mile track to time in 25th quick out of 40 cars in the 360 powered JEI. Heat one was a good start to the night moving from seventh starting spot and finishing in sixth. The B main was the last chance to qualify and Milburn would start sixth. The racing was close for the final transfer, with car running up to three wide at times. On the restart, while running in fifth spot, Milburn ran too high going into turn one and got the 77AU totally sideways. Unfortunately Milburn got hit in the left rear wheel, which damaged the wheel, tyre and some other suspension components and an early end to the night.

Night two was the same racing format. Milburn timed in 31st quick with a 13.977 lap out of the 39 car field. The one lap record at Ohsweken Speedway was a 12.955 was reset to a 12.420 by Joey Saldana. Heat race action saw Milburn move forward one spot again from his eighth starting position to finish seventh. The B main would be harder as the 77AU JEI would start from eleventh. Milburn was able to move forward through the race, but was only able to get up to eighth.

"This is an awsome track. I do like it. Last night the track was slick, compared to tonight where to track was hooky, super fast and hard to pass on. I moved forward in my heat races, so were pretty happy with our efforts, and only having a 360 cubic inch engine made me work hard behind the wheel. Its all experience, and that's why im racing as much as i can while im here in the US. Cheers" said Milburn.

PARR MOTORSPORTS IN THE USA...

Brett Milburn's A-main at Quincey Raceway

22/09/2009: Sunday night at Quincey Raceway in Illinois, The Jet makes his first US A-main start in the Parr Motorsport / JSR 77 JEI.

The Jet arrived at Quincey Raceway and described it as being like Nyora Raceway, although with high banked corners and a wider straight. Remembering that they only had one heat race to qualify for the A-main, The Jet and Adrian got to work on getting the car set up for the task ahead. Starting from position 4, the battle for an automatic transfer into the A-main was tough. The Jet tried several times to make a move for third, only to get passed and then drop back to finish fifth, which secured an A-main start. The feature race provided a track with a high and low racing line. The Jet tried both lines and managed to finish 17th in the feature, out of a twenty-three car line up.

"This track was fun and more like home for me. But as they say, the cookie didn't crumble our way. I'm enjoying the trip and just want to keep the car on 4 wheels and finish races. Catch you later." said The Jet

The Jet survives Knoxville

19/07/2009 : The Jet completes night one of his USA tour starting at Knoxville raceway with a B main finish.

Race format at Knoxville is different to here in Australia. Each driver only gets one heat race to qualify. The Jet drew position one in heat race 2. This heat also included the top 5 drivers that lead the Knoxville 360 point score, which would make it a difficult challenge. The Jet held his own for lap one, running side by side with Cornell. This didn't last for much longer as the set up wasn't quite good enough, and The Jet slowly dropped back as the heat went on and  he finished in eighth. Final chance was the B main, but starting 14th was going to need a big effort. The B main was incident packed with three red light stoppages. Unfortunately one was for fellow Aussie driver Brad Foster who cleared the 12 foot high catch fence and landed in the car park of the grounds. Luckily Brad walked away. The Jet finished in tenth place and didn't make the transfer to the A.

"It's great to be behind the wheel of the 77 JEI race car. I almost forgot how fast Knoxville was! Our set up was off the smallest amount and you can't afford that here on a half mile track. The B main was pretty rough up ahead, so we sat back and got some laps in and finished. Adrian Parr is my only crew at the moment, so we want to keep the car straight. Cheers" said The Jet.

The Jet will compete at  Quincy Raceway Illinois on Sunday 19 th July. (Monday Aussie time) Results will be posted as soon as they come through.

Team owner, Adrian Parr shared Murcott’s thoughts “We have all worked tirelessly to be here tonight! We made every effort to allow Dave to run some laps in our new JEI before this evening, only to fall agonisingly short last week for Parramatta! Everybody was a little tense and nervous about tonight proceedings but the guys and Dave chased the setup throughout the evening, nailing it for the dash!! Dave then drove a smart, level headed feature. The team couldn’t ask for anymore from him!!”

The Parr Motorsports team now packs up, ready for the long haul west to start their gruelling WSS campaign!

Parr Motorsports and Dave Murcott would like to thank their valued sponsors for their generous support during the 07/08 season –
